Meet the Team

Our team of functional nutritionists are dedicated to empowering you through education, data and personalized lifestyle support.

Stephanie Harrington MS, CNS, LDN

Stephanie works exclusively with adults, specializing in chronic gut disorders (IBS, SIBO, IBD, parasites, fungal overgrowth), perimenopause and menopause, chronic skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair loss), and complex hormonal conditions like PCOS, fibroids, and endometriosis.

Education: Stephanie holds a Master of Science in Nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine and a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Rhode Island. She has completed Katie's six-month intensive mentorship at GHT Academy, is SIBO-certified through Dr. Nirala Jacobi, and holds Dr. Aviva Romm's Women's Integrative & Functional Medicine Professional Certification.

In Practice: Stephanie listens harder than most. She'll catch the pattern in what you're describing before you finish the sentence, and she's especially good with patients who've cycled through other practitioners and felt unheard.

Ayla Heppding MS, CNS, LDN

Ayla sees patients of all ages, including children - the only practitioner on our team who does. She specializes in chronic gut conditions and microbiome restoration (SIBO, candida, parasites, dysbiosis), pediatric nutrition, preconception through postpartum care, men's health and metabolic health, and complex conditions like hypothyroidism, connective tissue disorders, MCAS, chronic fatigue, and menopause.

Education: Ayla holds a Master's in Human Clinical Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health and a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. She started her career interning and then assisting Katie directly before going on to work with hundreds of functional medicine patients at one of the largest functional and integrative health clinics in the DC area.

In Practice: Ayla believes you know your body better than any practitioner ever will, and she practices like it. She leans food and lifestyle first, pulls in functional testing and supplements only when the data calls for it, and parents especially appreciate her with their kids: calm, thorough, never alarmist.
